We made it through our first week living in Alaska. Still doesn’t feel like we are living here. Feels like we are on a long vacation. As we adjust to the lifestyle it is really starting to feel like home.
We got the trailer completely unpacked on Friday and returned it. The house look like a wreck. Boxes everywhere, things in places that don’t make sense. Thankfully we have a storage unit with the cabin to put items that don’t fit in the space. As we figured out the best place for items it has really started to feel like a home. Now just to make sure we keep it clean.

Took lots of patience to find out where everything belongs and how it will fit. Lots of time was spent and about 3 Walmart trips to get items we forgot. Walmart is always busy. Even during the middle of the week.

Sunday we visited a church that we enjoyed greatly. Felt just like the living room where we met. Was nice to get plugged into a church right away. Everyone was very nice and friendly. Today we went to the same church again just a different campus. We enjoyed it again.
This week was spent trying to figure out where everything is and learning to get there without the GPS. I can now successfully get to Benjamin’s work and home without the GPS. That’s about it. Still needs pull everything else up on the GPS. But eventually will get everywhere else figured out.
We also are figuring out what grocery store we go to. Groceries are a little more expensive than back in Pennsylvania so we are making sure we use everything we buy and only buy what we need. Gonna get creative with cooking. So far only had Benjamin complain about one meal I made in our 2 years of marriage but it’s okay because I didn’t like it either.

We currently do not have a washer and dryer in our home so we go to the laundry mat. I can successfully do laundry at the laundry mat. Also spent a good amount of time trying to figure out internet for our home. At this point we still do not have internet. Hoping to have that figured out this week.
By the end of the week, we still don’t have the house fully the way we want but that will come with time. Hoping to get more familiar with the area this week and spend time with friends we made so far and new ones as well. Beyond thankful for all the love and support with the blog. Hope everyone has a good week and see you back on Easter Sunday.
